I was messing around with some voice effects and somehow ended up with this growl. It sounds like a noise a dinosaur or dragon would make. Or like a clicker from "the last of us. 5 individual sounds created for a cyclops monster in a project that was cancelled before any real sound design could begin. This sound was created by recording various vocal noises and importing them into pro tools. Each vocal take was then pitch shifted down by -24 semitones and duplicated into 4-5 layers. These layers were processed individually using techniques such as reverse reverb, distortion and eq to emphasise different aspects of the creature's roar. The final sound is a result of all these layers playing simultaneously.

I wanted to create a sound that is scary. I was inspired by sounds for jumpscare sequences in horror movies. So here i generated an audio track and i added a « batterie risset » on it. It gaves a sound that sounds like a bell so i duplicated it 3 times more on 3 different audio tracks. Once done, i accelarated and turn up the volume on the second audio track a bit more compared to the first audio track. I repeated it on the 2 other tracks to give the impression that something is getting closer to us. After that, i generated a new audio track with a tone, i put it on overlap with the forth track and i highly turn up the volume to create a saturation in order to strongly surprise the listener. To finish, i checked that the final mixed track was not saturated, except the sequence i wanted to be saturated, and i exported the sound.

While perusing freesound for a nice and dramatic sound or two of failures, all the ones i've seen were pretty wimpy, so-to-speak. So i decided to create a few failure samples on a music-making program called musescore. These are for big whopper failures (or "epic failures") and are very dramatic - they may also be used for a scary event in a film or play. It includes a short buildup and a loud dissonant chord at the end to create suspense and horror. For this project i used violins, violas, cellos, double basses, timpani, cymbals and brass. Enjoy!.

I recorded this gate in ashton court, bristol. I recorded it for a surround sound eco-soundscape composition however i felt the need to share as it was probably one of the best sounds i captured. The long hollow poles the gate is attached to creates a spooky reverb that sounds like its coming from the ground itself. Please feel free to use this wherever you need.

Originally was a kitten mewing i got from here on freesound, then changed in my sound design class while following along with the examples he was doing in the lecture. When i finally stopped and listened to the end result. . . Well, it sounded like it would be good for someone's creepy needs!.
